Meetings and Events During AGA
REGIONAL MEETINGSThe regional meetings will take place on 12 October 2025 between 13:00 and 14:30 Nepal Time (GMT+5:45). Further information will be circulated as per attendance from the different regions. Please inform attendance indicating region during registration.
ISC/WG MEETINGS AND EVENTS
The ISCs and the WGs will be organising meetings and events. Further information will be provided as arrangements are made. Overview is provided in the schedule below:
Possible Slots for ISC/WG Events / Meetings
- The evenings of 11, 12 and 13 October are free for activities / meetings etc.
- 15 October during the board meeting there will be a tour of Lumbini following by 12:30 – 16:30 a ‘Cluster Event’ in Lumbini’ focusing on archaeology and possibly landscape
- 18 October there will be a closing event in the Sacred Garden followed by Site visits to archaeological sites which could be integrated into ISC activity
- 19 October a ‘Cluster Event’ in Kathmandu linked to 10th anniversary of the Gorkha Earthquake and Lessons Learned with site visits, could lead to an evening event / individual ISC meetings
- Activities can be planned pre- or post- AGA, which would need to be separately planned – but possible
NOTE: the ‘Cluster Events’ will be organized by various ISCs – which still needs to be detailed out.
ICOMOS 60 Years
Celebrating 60 years of ICOMOS Actions: will be arranged on 14 October 2025 evening. The event is being organised and further information will be provided.
Pre/Post AGA Events and Tours
SITE VISIT IN KAPILVASTU DISTRICTA tour of the archaeological sites in Kapilvastu District will be arranged on 18 October 2025 afternoon. The tour will include Kudan, Gothihawa, Tilaurakot-Kapilavastu, Niglihawa, possibly ending at the Ramsar site of Jagadishpur Reservoir.

PRE AND POST AGA EVENTS
There have been interest shown by various ISCs to organise events before or after the AGA. To organise any such event please contact Kai Weise icomos.aga2025@gmail.com Further information will be provided as these events are finalised.
PRE AND POST AGA TOURS
It must be noted that the Tihar Festival (festival of lights) will take place 21 to 23 October 2025 (21 Oct - Laxmi Puja, 22 Oct – Newari New Year, 23 Oct – Bhai Tikka).
We will provide information on various tours and treks that would be possible after the AGA. Contacts to reliable tour and trekking companies will be provided for those who want to arrange their further visit to Nepal on their own.
